Tom Waits - A Husky Bark Of An American Man

0502_tom_waits_b Born in the city of Pomona, California, Thomas Alan Waits has one of the most harsh voices of the American musical panorama. In fact, the critic Daniel Durchholz described his voice "like it was soaked in a vat of Bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months, and then taken outside and run over with a car". Waits, who recorded the off voice of a Purina ad in 1981, invented his own musical genre, the 'Waitsian', influenced by the other genres he has used: Blues, Jazz, Cabaret, swing and others.
